After 5 attempts waking up at 4:30 a.m. in the morning, I finally capture the photo that I’ve dreamed of. A once in a lifetime opportunity for me to witness and photograph such an amazing Texas landscape scene with a beautiful sunrise and fog in the valley along with some great display of mixed Texas wildflowers. Along with the bluebonnets in the picture below, you can see other Texas wildflowers blooming as well including Scarlet Gaura, Texas Star, a few Vernea, Indian Paintbrush, and Pink Evening Primrose.

TGIF everyone! This weekend should be really nice. Hope everyone gets a moment and enjoy the outdoors. Here is a recent image of a nice Texas bluebonnets field photographed in Ennis, Texas. This Texas bluebonnet field picture below was photographed in Andrews Road in Ennis, Texas and is perhaps one of the prettiest fields I have seen this year. The light rain/mist we been having and cooler weather has prolonged the bluebonnets peak for another week.

Texas Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush Photo

As everyone knows, I am drawn to grand dramatic landscape photography as seen on all my photos. However, this year I wanted to focus on some intimate nature scene, as there are just amazing details in this world that I have often overlooked. Something very different from me, but I hope you guys like it just the same. Here is a photo of some morning raindrops photographed this morning, 4/23/13, with some Texas bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes. Thought this Texas wildflowers picture suite this gloomy day perfectly.

Texas Wildflowers Photos in 2013

Texas bluebonnets fields are hard to find this year, but there are some to be found. Sometimes it requires looking harder and sometime it requires photographing the wildflowers at a different angle and sometimes it is both. Here is a recent Texas bluebonnets photo with some mixed wildflowers in the field that I photographed this morning, 4/21/13, in Palmer, Texas, during the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival.

Ennis Bluebonnets Photos in Texas

Ennis Bluebonnets Photos

From a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best and compared to 2012.

I drove around Ennis briefly Tuesday, 4/16/13, and recently, 4/18/13, and here are my findings:

  • Mach Road:
  • ~ 1 weeks away from peak. It’s not quite thick and impressive as last year, but still acres of bluebonnets to see if you just wanted to see some bluebonnets. Rated 5

  • Sugar Ridge:
  • Again, not very impressive compared to last year. As photographer, I would skip this all together. However, this is the only field that has no fence. Rated 4

  • Andrews Road:
  • yellow bastard cabbage has really taken over the east side of this road. West side is coming along nicely. Rated 7+

  • FM 813:
  • Not impressive as last year, but there are some nice fields to be found all along FM 813. Rated 7

  • Valek Road off FM 85:
  • Very impressive. Acres of bluebonnet that are nice and dense. BE CAREFUL: there is an electric fence on this road. Rated 8+

This Texas wildflowers photo below was photographed at Andrews Road in Ennis. Not quite as big and full as 2012, but still a nice field. This is the first bluebonnet field I found and photographed this year (yay me :) ). The bluebonnet fields are definitely hard to come by this year.

On another note, our hearts and thoughts are with our friends in West, Texas, as this one hits a little closer to home.

“Studies show that tasks performed while under the calming influence of nature are performed better and with greater accuracy, yielding a higher quality result. The calming influence of natural environments is conducive to positive work environments by increasing a person’s ability to concentrate on the task at hand.” Here is a scenic Texas bluebonnet photo hopefully to relax and calm everyone. :)

This Texas bluebonnet photo was photographed surprisingly at Palo Pinto County in Possum Kingdom Lake.

    Texas Wildflowers Pictures

    Good morning Everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying some beautiful weather we are having. Here is a recent Texas bluebonnet photo taken yesterday, 3/12/13, photographed surprisingly at Palo Pinto County. I saw a few small patches of Texas bluebonnet mostly on Park Road 36 going towards Sandy Beach of Palo Pinto County in Possum Kingdom Lake. These beautiful Texas wildflowers patches are not a large stretch, but you can’t help enjoy the scenic views of the rolling hills and the lake.
